I made a sample character and a spreadsheet (got to be a pain tracking the points.. this let me experiment with values.) Note the spreadsheet doesn't check your work for legal values. Please don't feel that you have to use the spreadsheet.. I just got sick of calculating with every change :)

I think everyone should peruse the players guide and play around with character creation before we get together on the 8th.
